The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) of the Department of Municipalities and Transport in Abu Dhabi announced that MAWAQiF system will be activated in 149 new surface standard parking spaces in sector 8C near to Al Ain Museum starting from Sunday, April 18, 2021.

This sector is bordered by Hessa Bint Mohamed Street from east in front of the museum and Al Tuhaf Road a sub-street to enter the sector.

This comes in part of ITC’s plan to manage parking spaces in Al Ain City and offer long-term solutions to resolve parking issues and maintain the traffic flow.

It also helps in decreasing illegal and random parking, enabling the optimal use of available parking spaces, enhancing the traffic flow, making roads safer and maintaining the overall look of the city.

ITC stated that it is illegal to park in yellow and grey markings, in the middle of the road, double-parking, drop-off and pick-up points, pedestrian crossings, access points and fire hydrants.
